HMRC Inheritance Tax : Inventory : Form C1 and Form C5

The Inventory forms and notes are available as three different types. We have produced a guide to help you to make best use of the forms.

Important note

All the forms and notes are in Portable Document Format (PDF). If you have Adobe Reader 7 (or later) installed on your computer, you will be able to view and print the forms.

Where the estate qualifies as an excepted estate the Inventory form C1 must be accompanied by a return of estate information on form C5 (or C5(OUK) for those domiciled abroad; C5(SE) for a Small Estate).

1. User Guide (PDF 24K)
We recommend that you download this guide and read it before deciding which version of the forms is right for you.

2. Integrated Inventory
This version links forms C1 & C2 together and allows you to fill the forms in on screen. The totals from each page are carried forward.

3. File and Save
This version contains each form as a separate file, allowing you to fill in each form individually on screen.

4. View and Print
This version allows you to view the forms on screen and to print out a copy.
